Analyze analyze analyze... 3 pieces to analyze, why can't i just play with expression without analyzing? what's wrong with that????

teacher says, " what you are playing is just an empty box, no story lines, no pictures in your performing!!!"

what??? what does that mean??? story lines in a piano playing? pictures in piano playing?? sigh, i am confuse. I know analysis is important, but i always very slow in analyzing, always tot there will be a short cut to do it, but today, teacher says, "no, you just got to practise, and speed up your analyzing skill as time goes by." cruel, cruel, cruel~~~
